Acquired by Sunbelt Holdings in 1996, scenic McDowell Mountain Ranch ranked for years among the nation’s fastest-growing masterplanned communities. The 3,200-acre community also earned numerous national, regional and local awards. It sold out five years ahead of projected completion.
McDowell Mountain Ranch encompasses 4,500 homes built by 15 builders, 50 acres of retail/office/commercial space and two recreation centers. A 70-acre site donated to the City of Scottsdale includes an elementary school, middle school, public library, and Citizen Service Center.
McDowell Mountain Ranch also donated 891 acres of desert hillside and wash corridors to the City of Scottsdale and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. More than four miles of improved trails and wash corridors link neighborhoods to the adjacent McDowell Mountains.
